WHAT IS PLUG-IN PV ?

Plug-in PV (plug-and-play solar) refers to small-scale PV systems – typically two to four PV modules plus a micro-inverter, usually up to around 800 W AC.

In many countries, users can set up these systems themselves by plugging them into a domestic power socket. They can be installed in a wide range of places, including balconies, façades, terraces and gardens, walls and carports, flat roofs or rooftops.

Because they are easy to install, plug-in PV can lower barriers for participation – so both tenants and property owners can contribute to the energy transition.
