IEA PVPS Task 13 has published a new Fact Sheet on Optimisation of Photovoltaic Systems for Different Applications, examining how building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), floating photovoltaics (FPV) and agrivoltaics (AV) can be optimised for performance, reliability and lifetime.
The publication argues that conventional design approaches developed primarily for ground-mounted PV are not sufficient for these applications, which require a broader, multidimensional approach to performance assessment. Among other topics covered are application-specific KPIs, as well as an explanation of different stressors and mitigation strategies, and an exploration of research priorities.
The fact sheet provides a concise overview of the latest work from IEA PVPS Task 13 and summarises the main findings of the comprehensive report Optimisation of Photovoltaic Systems for Different Applications.
